MASPIRINEO

CLIMBS: COURSE ANETO

The Aneto is the highest mountain in the Pyrenees, very beautiful and also very demanding both physically and technically. Depending on the time of the year the ascent is more or less favourable, so we have to be aware of the necessary preparation to make the ascent to Aneto an unforgettable day.

The old Pyrenees named the Aneto-Maladeta massif as Montes Malditos or Mont Maudí, because of the imposing mountains seen from the Benasque pass and because of the difficulty of the old glaciers. Nowadays, it is a real honour to be able to make the ascent through the remains of these “perpetual ice”.

Walk between ice and rock makes the ascent of the Aneto summit a great mountain for which we must be prepared.
